A Hole in the Head: Tacky tale of a ne’er-do-well Sinatra and his child Hodges doesn’t appear authentic. Only difference is Oscar-triumphing melody, “High Wishes.” Cast includes Blunt Sinatra, Edward G. Robinson, Eleanor Parker, Carolyn Jones, Thelma Ritter, Eddie Hodges, Keenan Wynn, and Joy Lansing. (120 minutes, 1959)
One Wild Moment: Lightweight, unsatisfying sex charade in reference to two middle-aged buddies Marielle and Lanoux who holiday with their seductive adolescent baby girls Sora, Dejoux. Not almost as brainy as other Berri comedies. Cast includes Jean-Pierre Marielle, Champ Lanoux, Agnes Soral, Christine Dejoux, and Martine Sarcey. (88 minutes, 1977)
Nightmare on Elm Street Part Two: Continuation of first film’s tale (set 5 years later) has an adolescent boy plagued by fantasies of the demonic Freddy, who is motive on taking over both his mind and body so he might murder all the town’s adolescents. Hideous visual affects over power this horror film. Cast includes Mark Patton, Kim Myers, Robert Rusler, Hope Lange, Marshall Bell, Sydney Walsh, and Robert Englund. (84 minutes, 1985)
II Posto: This early Olmi characteristic has something of the feel of early Truffaut and Milos Forman in its depiction of everyday life with its small glories and failures. Easy tale that interests a teenaged boy getting his first job and meeting a gal, however the beauty of the film is in the admiring and perceptive examination of human beings. Cast includes Sandro Panseri, Loredana Detto, Tullio Kezich, and Mara Cherish. (93 minutes, 1961)
AKA: Powerful tale of a youthful, gay, performing-style boy who manages to infiltrate England’s upper crust, posing as a lord and nearly getting away with it. Shot on digital video, tale is informed by means of a triptych, simultaneously granting 3 views of each scene. Method takes getting used to however eventually the gimmick pays off. A mixed box, although still worth checking out. Written by Roy, and based on his experiences. Cast includes Matthew Leitch, Diana Rapid, George Asprey, Lindsey Coulson, Blake Ritson, Bill Nighy, Geoff Bell, and Peter Youngblood Hills. T, (123 minutes, 2002)
General Spanky: Slothful Civil Battle tale, balancing kid pranks contrary to an adult romance, was meant to showcase 3 Our Clique megastars in a characteristic-film format; it’s simple to see why there wasn’t an encore. Buckwheat’s role ‘as a servant looking for a master might anger modern-day spectators. Cast includes George McFarland, Billie “Buckwheat” Thomas, Carl Switzer, Phillips Holmes, Rosina Lawrence, and Louise Beavers. (71 minutes, 1936)
Act One: This is an interpretation of the autobiography of writer Moss Hart. The whole thing comes across as quite unrealistic. Star listed are George Hamilton, Jason Robards, George Segal, Eli Wallach, and Jack Klugman. (1963 biography directed by Dore Schary)
The African UOD: Momentous Real-Life documentary is possibly Disney’s best. Botanists Alfred and Elma Milotte filmed the African lion in his local dwelling through a year’s cycle of seasons. Cast includes James Algar. The film is depicted by Winston Hibler. (75 minutes, 1955)
Mr. Music: Laidback motor vehicle for crooner Crosby as Broadway songwriter who desires to live the simple life. Redo of Accent on Youth 2 by Richard Haydn. Cast includes Bing Crosby, Nancy Olson, Charles Coburn, Ruth Hussey, Marge and Gower Victor, Peggy Lee, and Grouchy Marx (113 minutes, 1950)
