Stalker: Stark, eerie, cerebral tale of a strong personality, who guides eggheads Grinko and Solonitsin through the “Area,” a bizarre, prohibited swamp. Extremely slow, although well performed and gratifying. Cast includes Alexander Kaidanovsky, Nikolai Grinko, and Anatoli Solonitsin. (160 minutes,’79)

Jack of Diamonds: Hamilton plays a feline burglar who pillages gems from Baker, Gabor, and Palmer, who are “special guests” in this movie. Bypass this one and wait for To Catch a Robber to be shown. Cast includes George Hamilton, Joseph Cotten, Marie Laforet, Maurice Evans, Carroll Baker, Zsa Zsa Gabor, and Lilli Palmer. (67 minutes,’67)

Rich Girl: Incredibly gentle time filler in reference to “meager little rich gal” Schoelen leaving her life of comfort in her daddy’s Bel-Air mansion and trying to make it on her own, ultimately hooking up with a blue-collar rock singer. Cast includes Jill Schoelen, Don Michael Paul, Sean Kanan, Ron Karabatsos, and Paul Gleason. (96 minutes,’91)

White Noise: Jonathan Rivers has lost his wife Anne. Then, he is contacted by a man who claims to have heard Anne’s voice, and has a recording of it. Then Jonathan himself captures a recording of Anne’s voice, and an image of her on video. Anne’s message to Jonathan is to find the brutal killer that took her life, so he won’t harm anyone else.

South Park: Bigger, Longer And Uncut: Our dynamic four are in top form in the first feature length film of the TV series. There is a new movie at the theater, a Terrence and Phillips film, and the boys are off to see it. When they arrive at the theater they can’t get in because of the R rating. They overcome this obstacle by paying off a street drunk to get the tickets for them. This is the boy’s first real intense introduction to foul language. They leave the movie fully trained in the new words, and use them whenever they can. This leads to outrage from the parents. Since Terrence and Phillip are Canadian, this ends with the US and Canada going to war.

For Queen and Country: This is a striking modern day thriller of Life in England. Washington is well cast as a prior paratrooper who battles for existence in an environment of racism, poverty, and corruption, and then loses his British citizenship due to a legal technicality. Cast includes Denzel Washington, Dorian Healey, Amanda Redman, Ocean Chapman, and Bruce Payne. (105 minutes,’89)
