Airsoft Guns – How To Convince Your Parents You’re Mature Enough To Handle One

Not too long ago, we came across an advertisement selling airsoft guns. We have to admit, we did not know what these guns were and that is why we decided to research them. After some careful research on this subject, we found that they were pretty interesting to say the least. After learning about them, we decided that we would purchase one for us. After this, we decided that we would get one so that our teenagers could play along with us. One thing we have learnt is that teenagers really do like playing with these things, but there are some safety matters you will need to follow…

You cannot kill anyone with an airsoft gun. However, if fired at close range, you really can shoot someone’s eye out–or their teeth. Many accidents occur when you don’t think the gun is loaded, so don’t ever fool around with it. You should never point the gun at anyone, even in fun, and never put your finger near the trigger until ready to shoot.

The best thing you can do is read up on safety rules and talk to your parents about them. They probably think you won’t use the gun safely or don’t even know how safe it is. If you can show them you take gun safety seriously, they might change their minds.

You should also be aware that many schools have serious penalties for bringing these guns to class, including suspension or expulsion; and there have been cases where people have been shot by police officers who thought the gun was the real thing.

Show your parents all the protective gear you’d be willing to wear if you had an air gun. In addition to goggles, you should wear a bulletproof vest, guards over your shins, forearms, and hips, knee protectors, steel toe combat boots, and leather gloves. All this equipment is a hassle to put on, but it keeps you safe if other people are being stupid with their guns.

And don’t be one of those people yourself! Never point your gun at your friends, even as a joke, because if it goes off by accident they could lose an eye or some of their teeth. Always treat your gun like it’s loaded, even if you don’t think it is, and only point or shoot at targets on the range. Before shooting, check to make sure there’s nobody in your way.

There are some games that do allow shooting at human targets. It is up to you whether or not to allow your child to participate. These games require the protective gear described above.

Your parents probably have heard horror stories about air guns and don’t know anything about them. Showing that you understand how important safety is will go a long way towards getting them to buy you an air gun.
