The Indian in the Cupboard: A boy (Scardino) acquires an old chest as a birthday present, and finds that while he sets a toy Indian inside and turns the key, the Indian comes to life. Then he sees that the Indian is not a toy, however a genuine individual. Problems follow, particularly while his best buddy summons to life a toy cowboy. Cast includes Hal Scardino, Lindsay Crouse, Richard Jenkins, Rishi Bhat, and Nestor Serrano. (96 minutes,’95)

The illustrated Man: Youthful drifter Drivas meets tattooed man Steiger, who is looking for the strange lady (Bloom), who “illustrated” his whole body. The drifter sees futuristic stories in three of the illustrations, most of which include megastar Steiger and, or Bloom and Drivas. The film is a disheartening, dull-paced adaptation of short stories from Ray Bradbury. Cast includes Rod Steiger, Claire Bloom, Robert Drivas, Don Dubbins, Jason Evers, Ton Weldon, and Christie Matchett. (103 minutes,’69)

For Roseanna: Sugary, well-intentioned film in regards to a gentleman who has vowed his spouse, who’s terminally sick, that she can be buried in their village churchyard cemetery however with only a few empty plots left, he takes it upon himself to keep the other townspeople alive! Mystery Alaska: Remote Alaskan town’s hockey team is given the possibility to play the N.Y. Rangers as a publicity stunt. There is a hodgepodge cast of characters and an unavoidable big game finale. Crowe is the only one to ascend above the material. Cast includes Russell Crowe, Burt Reynolds, Hank Azaria, Mary McCormack, Lolita Davidovich, Mike Myers, and Little Richard. (118 minutes,’99)
